MOTHER & WIFE
In September 2002 I met Mike, my husband – a St. Augustine, FL native – back in my beloved Montevideo (Uruguay). In January 2004 we got married and the following year, in March 2005, our son Richard was born in Las Vegas, NV. The three of us have lived and traveled the world together, as well as across the U.S. Today, we’ve settled down in Miami, FL… for now.
DIGITAL
In July 2011 I was hired by an advertising agency in Miami, FL as a member of its digital team. In my capacity as Social Media Community Manager I not only manage online communities for very large companies, but I also determine – together with the digital team – the strategy and tactics to implement digital campaigns across different social media platforms. Social media metrics and analytics are also part of my job description. I simply LOVE this new turn my career has taken and I intend to enjoy it at its fullest!
RESEARCHER
“Nerdiness” is my natural state of mind. I enjoy reading academic papers and textbooks instead of a good, entertaining novel. The fact that “digital” people are still considered to be part of this group is just an added benefit of my job.
INTERCULTURAL
I was born in Argentina, raised in Uruguay and got married to an American. My family is not too big… parents in Latin America, brother between Angola and Portugal, uncle in Austria and cousins in England. Living in China in 2009-2010 gave me the Oriental touch that I was needing in my cultural search and growth.
LANGUAGE SPECIALIST
Around The Globe Translations was my “baby” for 6 years. Upon my arrival to the U.S. in 2004 I started working as a freelance translator, proofreader and editor for English, Spanish and Italian. It was an experience that allowed me to be home for my son, as well as starting and successfully accomplishing both a B.A. and a M.A. in American universities. Moreover, being self-employed gave me the opportunity to learn about the wonderful world of entrepreneurship and to meet amazingly culturally talented people. Although I enjoyed it, I eventually got tired of the solitude that comes with being a freelance translator. I built it, I succeeded and I moved on to my next challenge.
